How to jump a foot or more higher by just doing a few simple exercises

If you do not properly stretch prior to exercising and workouts you face a greater risk of injury and you will not get as good a result as you could with proper stretching. Another key thing before you start exercising to gain your vertical leap is proper hydration. If you are dehydrated in the slightest bit you will be prone to injury, straining your muscles and on top that they will not recuperate from exercises quickly as they could if you were properly hydrated. Be careful to start lightly if it does have a apparatus for adding weights and then increase as you get better and stronger. If you do not have access to a gym with a calf raising machine you can use stairs which will provide you with six or more inches of flexion room. Another great exercise that is directly correlated to were linked with jumping higher increasing your vertical leap is skipping rope. Skipping rope will add to your aerobic conditioning while at the same time strengthening your legs and improving your ability to jump and help you keep better balance at the same time. Usually follow this with lunges which will strengthen your quadriceps and basically your whole leg muscles. With a lunge you basically hold the weight you back in lunge forward on each leg taking turns between your legs.

Another great exercise actually derived from the martial art of kung fu in China is just doing the vertical leaps with a little offshoot. In China they had various systems that they called Kungs. One of thesekungs was called iron fist were you practiced hitting different objects and off to the point where your fist became a battering ram basically. Basically the training for the kung was to start then dig a slight 1 foot deep hole and practice jumping from inside the whole to the outer rim of the whole. Once you could do that easily many times then you dug another inch out and practiced jumping again. Every week or so another inch was dug out from the bottom of the hole. This may sound stupid but over a period of weeks if you keep heading into week 12 weeks would translate into another foot 36 weeks would be 3 feet in addition to the one foot deep it already is to begin with. That would equal a 48 inch vertical leap into. Of 36 to 40 weeks.

Most high school and college basketball players or wannabes would die for that. Now if you read about these kungs, I don't know about the validity of some of their claims but supposedly some of these kung fu artists were able to have vertical leaps of over 6 feet or more. It is plausible as if you were to keep doing that could happen. I do know that it has been proven that continuously leaping in striving to jump higher will cause you to inevitably have a higher vertical leap. Another good idea to quickly increase your vertical leap is to cut your level of body fat down as far as you can and to reduce any unwanted body fat.
