Is prophecy correct and 2012 is the end of the earth? Armageddon? The day a comet or asteroid destroys most of humankind?
I have seen numerous programs on TV on everything from Nostradamus to Edgar Cayce, and numerous other programs on the various prophecies and the amazing thing is that most all agree that the year 2012 is the end year for this reality or life as we know it on earth. Is this correct and is it really going to happen that the book of Revelations and Apocalypse will occur in our life time and more importantly in the next 4 years?
That would be very scary if it were to happen. First the Mayan calender ends on this date - I believe it ends specifically on December 22, 2012. According to the Mayan calender the pictures that are carved into rock show a comet and fire. So, according to the Mayans maybe a large asteroid impacts with earth and causes uncontrolable fires, tsunamis and floods. One of our readers here at Bestbraindrain.com forwarded us in an email this website by a guy who calls himself Pastor Harry. His website is called Satansrapture (http://www.satansrapture.com) and its quite scary if you read through his website and believe everything it says.
This Pastor Harry is apparently an expert on the Bible Codes and uses them to predict future events. Apparently he has not been able to acurately predict much of anything, but he uses past occurences as examples to show the accuracy of the Bible Codes. Well, I don't disagree with the Bible Codes because the bible does mention that in the end times that something like a guide or similar will be revealed which will reveal the events of the apocalypse (this is n the book of Daniel). The problem is that God is all knowing and, according to numerous experts, has coded the bible in ways that we will not be able to determine future events until after they actually occur.
God favors free will and it is humanities actions as a whole that can speed up or slow down certain events. As it is written in the bible - No one will know the time, place or date. Yet this Pastor Harry along with many cult leaders constantly tries to predict future dates or events and occurences. And then when they don't go as he predicts then he blames it on the government or some kind of coverup. One of his latest prophecies is that Obama will be assassinated in 2009 in the fall and that somehow Hillary Clinton will become president. Well, lets see, if Obama were to be assassinated or become ill, then Joe Biden would succeed him to the presidency.

If Joe Biden met some similar fate then Nancy Pelosi would be next in line, not Hillary Clinton. God said throughout the bible to prepare yourself for Jesus's second coming, but not to try and predict the exact moment in time. Yes, we are in a bad economy and at a loss of 47% in the Dow at its lowest point in the past 2 months, this qualifies as one of the more severe recessions in our history, but we have had numerous bad economies, tragedies, and more that far outweigh our current conditions and they were not the end of the world.
In 1929 through 1935 numerous people lost everything and people were seen carrying signs stating that the end was near. In the holocaust Hitler and his sick minions (the SS) killed millions of innocent jews in an attempt to cleanse the world of Jewish people and others of various races and such that Hitler did not like. There has been worse depressions than even the great depression of 1929 (like the railroad bankruptcies of the 1800's).
Now lets just look at the latest claim of this Pastor Harry where he claims a comet or large mass like a small planet will come and strike the earth throwing it into World War 3. His Bible Code prophecy states that this will awaken the Mongol King (China) and this will start World War 3. Well, I'm not going to try and interpret anything China would do, but if a comet hit the earth and caused 1/3 of all mankind to die then I don't think that warring with other nations would be on the forefront of their mind or anyone else's.
Now lets look at the plausability of a large comet causing a great and fatal impact to earth in 2012. NASA has a website setup that is quite neat for those of you that like astronomy or even if you just want to know if there is an impending large asteroid that will ruin your day. The url is http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/links/ and it is for the near earth program. There are links on this page that show all the known moving objects like asteroids, comments, etc... that are even the remotest likely to pass within several hundred thousand miles of earth.
The scale they use goes from 0 to 10 (10 being imminent danger and 0 being not even remotely likely to cause an earthly impact). Only once has a object or asteroid even reached a 2. It was then listed back as a 0 as its trajectory was updated and found it would not impact earth. There is currently only 1 out of about 100 or more objects that is rated a 1. And the next plausible or likely impact will not be until 2048 or so per their projections. Now it is important to note that the staff at NASA is so highly intelligent as a whole as to make Google jealous - how many true rocket scientists do you really know? They actually made a movie about a rocket scientist from NASA - October Sky (If you haven't seen it it is a great movie).

So, the minds at NASA, can plot trajectories for anything moving anywheres near our direction from far enough away that we have a over 25 year headway. So, for Pastor Harry to be correct than NASA and its group of experts and scientists must either be wrong (which I doubt) or they are lying. Now there are arguments from numerous ex NASA and other governmental agencies that claim to have seen UFO's and such. But this is the realm of the unknown. Regardless of how many people claim to have seen or been abducted by a UFO we still have no hard scientific evidence that they exist. Just like we don't have conclusive evidence of ghosts and the paranormal.
So, lets just say for convenience that Pastor Harry is right and NASA is wrong or is lying. For a heavenly object like a planet or asteroid or some similarly large body that could cause global destruction to be able to hit us in 4 years it would have to be in our solar system already. The Hubble and Voyager 1 and 2 along with other satellites and spacecraft we have launched travel upwards of 40,000 km/hr and this is on par with the fastest asteroids and comets known. At these tremendous speeds a large asteroid or such would already have to be inside our solar system between Pluto and Jupiter or even closer (depending upon their speed) to be able to hit our planet in 4 years.
With that in mind, Neptune and Jupiter are viewable by even amateur astronomers with a telescope they bought at Walmart. Universities with better equipment but not any where near on par with NASA would easily be able to spot anything within a 4 year impact timeframe. NASA would then look like an idiot if they were wrong or they would have to have already come out with the truth as some researcher would have already found this foreign mass and proudly named it. So, the plausability of a foreign asteroidal or similar impact this way is zilch.
The only other ways for this to happen would be for a asteroid to fall out of the Asteroid belt (located between Mars and Jupiter) or for a planet like Venus or Mars to change their tajectory and collide with earth. The idea of another planet changing trajectory is nonplausible as it has never occured since the creation of our solar system. Now the idea of a large meteor or Asteroid falling out of the Asteroid belt is plausible as 99.8% of all impacts (basically almost every single one) on earth have come from meteors that resulted from collisions between asteroids and debris in the Asteroid belt.

Apparently one such collision caused similar craters on the Moon and the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico - these craters and impacts are significant as they are believed to have caused the great dinosaur extinction some 65 million years ago. There are some larger masses or Dwarf planets like Ceres that exist in the Asteroid belt and which could have collisions in the Asteroid belt resulting in large asteroids falling to earth and causing global catastrophies that could even be worse than the collisions that were behind the dinosaur extinctions. So, the only plausible thought that could back this Pastor Harry's prophecy through his interpretation of the Bible Codes is a impact resulting from an event in the Asteroid Belt.
According to Dr. Backman of the NASA Ames Research Center, significant impacts in the Asteroid belt that could result in a meteor or asteroid impacting earth and being of any significance only occurs once every 500,000 years. Now once one of these impacts occurs what are the odds that the resulting meteor or asteroid will impact Earth? Very, very, very small. Look at it this way. If you took a dart board and moved it 100 feet away what are the odds that you could even hit it with one throw? Not very good if that. Now, to keep things in perspective think of the bulls eye as the earth. What are the odds that you could hit that at 100 feet? Not good, huh. Now it gets worse. The earth is in constant movement in its path around the sun. So, now have someone move that dart board around and thentry and hit it - it would be all but impossible to hit it.
This is why the above NASA website on near earth hits has only one object listed as a 1 and the rest as 0's and they haven't had anything listed above a 2 since they started keeping track. Yes, there are comets that get by and such, but they are so small and insignificant that they could not possibly fuulfill Pastor Harry's prophecy. So, the odds of Pastor Harry's prophecy of a massive impact in 2012 are worse than the odds of someone winning the Powerball lottery with 1 ticket. He does have a chance, but it is like 1 in 200 trillion or so. Very bad odds. This may be why none of his predictions ever come true.

The reality here is that the Bible Code does look like a plausible added code or way of seeing how God coded or built the universe and mankind. But God is a being of such superior knowledge that he and only he can see in all directions of time and know everything at the same time. We cannot. The Bible Code cannot be used to predict the future because of free will. God has encoded every possible outcome (which would be endless) for every possible significant situation. One with a humanly mind and body would not theoretically or possibly be able to pull out the right outcome or coding for a future event. It wouldn't be possible. Only God could see the future and know which of a million possibities will likely or actually occur and each event controls the next and so on.
As stated in Matthew 24:36 (King James version):
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
So, regardless what this Pastor Harry states and tries to elicit from these bible codes he is incorrect and will always be. God says himself that no man and that not even the angels will know. So, if you believe in God, which I hope you do, this Pastor Harry is wrongly interpreting the bible and most people that do things like that and claim they can do things like tell the future usually are a part of a cult. For more on cults and what they are and how to identify their wrong ideas, brainwashing techniques and more see http://www.howcultswork.com/.
So I hope you take with you the fact that free will determines where our future goes. You control your own life and no man can tell you what will occur in your future or any man's future - only God knows our futures. When someone tells you something or makes a compelling arguement such as this Pastor Harry, do a little research first before you decide to blindly believe in them. Cult leaders exist everywhere and are constantly looking to add or recruit members into their fold. Educate youself and then use a little common sense. God gave us largger brains than any other animal on earth so that we could think and better understand our world and ouselves. Unfortunately some people (Pastor Harry, David Koresh and other current and past cult leaders or cult leader wannabe's) use their minds in ways that are not only wrong but steer others in the wrong direction. When you are confronted with something like Pastor Harry's website use your common sense, research it and think it through - you will find the light at the end of the tunnel as we just did above.

I think the world is coming to an end and its time for the next great extinction. I have my aluminum foil hat on and have loaded up and stocked my personal bomb shelter. I wonder what animal or creature will replace the humans as the apex animal? Will lizard men replace us or will the earth be more like Planet of the Apes? Just in case I stored boxes of bananas.
