Apparently some prankster has inadvertently signed me up for both online dating services True and Hornymatches over the past few months.  So after having seen some of the emails and such (True sends me several each day) I feel I can give a pretty good review and synopsis of these services and I'll tell you why. 

After looking at just a few emails and clicking through the profiles, apparently True is true - they have some of the ugliest and nastiest members of the opposite sex I have ever seen.  A email from True that shows possible matches should just be discarded.  But, at least I will give True this - the members are not hiding behind false pictures and profiles like everyone knows they do on other online dating services.  And, likewise, Hornymatches is instead a bunch of potential gold diggers and prostitutes looking for their next John or Cougar.

Apparently the persons posting these profiles at Hornymatches are not bright enough to understand that police routinely browse and participate in online forums (can anyone say Craigslist?) and dating services to catch prostitutes.  I mean the ads are so blatantly obvious like a beautiful 20 year old girl looking for a 60 year old plus male or couple for sex only and that they want to please you now but you can't contact them through the service and must contact them offline....

Some emails contain abridged profiles with a picture.  From True.com it definitely does not want to make you go any further than that as these pictures are usually quite hideous.  Then there's Hornymatches.com.  Most of the pictures are naked or barely clothed and then there are some that are like the one I just saw that made me feel like I should write this article - it was just a picture of a woman's hairy (very hairy) vagina.  Wow, that just tells it all - "Hi, I'm a vagina..."  So classy.

So, unless you are very hard up (I mean very, very hard up) you will not need the servicesw of either True or Hornymatches.com.  The majority of the members of True do not look anything like the ads you may see posted everywhere on the internet.  Instead they look like the Monster from the Blue Lagoon or the zombies in Night of the Living Dead.  Definitely not worth your time.  You could probably do better in a sleazy local bar.  Then there's Hornymatches - unless you need a prostitute or want to get caught like Eliot Spitzer or even worse blackmailed you would do better locally.  Trying to get laid over the internet for a little cash is not a good idea - besides it wouldn't surprise me if some of the profiles and such were from law enforcement agencies trying to snare unsuspecting Johns and Cougars.

Dating and sex may be a numbers game to some people, but you will never find a quality partner that way.  To find a quality partner you need to go and get involved in local activities and such.  Be more outgoing and break out of your shell if you are shy.  Yes, some people (both girls and guys) can be mean and such, but ignore them and move on and try to find other ways then online dating or even trying to pick up girls or guys at a local night club.  Try instead to go to a local coffeeshop or bookstore.  Maybe a museum or some local event.  This is where you will meet members of the opposite sex that will not only attract you with their exterior looks but will also interest you on an intellectual level.

Bottomline, I don't think I would want to leave my dating life up to an online dating service.  For one its not safe with all the crazy people out there in our world today.  And for two, I believe in the idea that anything in life worth doing is worth working at.  What that means is that if you want a attractive and interesting mate you will have to seek them out.  You will have to seek them out at events and such that interest you and broaden your horizens.  Do you like computers (well for many people on the internet that is a given), do you like animals?  Do you like to help others?  Do you like to volunteer?  These are just a few ideas - go out and get involved.  Make a difference.  And better yet don't go out there searching for your mate - let them come to you.  It's amazing the way that life works and brings things full circle.

I am a firm believer in karma.  If you do good things then good things will happen to you.  If you do bad things then eventually you will reap what you sow.  Take the time to try and improve the world around you.  Visit some lonely elderly residents at a local nursing home.  Help out at a local blood drive.  The list of things you can do to help others is endless and begins right in your own backyard.  Get involved and let the karma do its work.  You may meet your future significant other or spouse sooner than you think plus you're bound to make some great friends.
