Google Chrome and online cloud technology

Earlier this month Google released its new competitor for Microsoft's Internet Explorer.  It looks like the raging fued between Google and Microsoft for complete dominance of everything internet and basically computer related is going to get more intense.  Google is moving fast to get not only a large share or control of the browser market, but they also want to employ online tools rather than offline.  What this means is that they want people to use office and computing software through their servers and over the internet so they don't need to have software like MS Office and similar installed on their own computers.

This is good in theory as it would make it far easier to transport information from home to office and back.  But there is one more problem, it could also make it far easier for hackers to go after this info as it is all stored in one area - the Google servers.  This would quickly make Google a very large target and Google is not impenetrable to outside hacks jobs.  Neither is NASA, the Pentagon or the White House (just see the below links for more on this).

I am just not to sure about everyone in the world using all the same servers and storing confidential stuff like business reports, customer information, etc...  Now, that said, I have used Google Chrome and installed it on my computer to give it a try out (here is the link if you want to try out the new Google Chrome - http://www.google.com/chrome). Just remember it is in beta form and may still have some glitches and such.

I found by using it that it was very similar to Firefox and Apple Safari.  It didn't stand out to me but it is okay.  Per the Google team, the real power or usability of Google Chrome will be when the applications and such are added to it.  They are also going to be adding more features to it for easier usability.
