Scratchback gets scratched!
Well, after 10,000 plus pageviews, we found that the Scratchback links idea was all washed up. Nobody likes the idea of donating and it did far worse than Adbrite. Another issue we found was that the Scratchback code was messing up computers with Internet Explorer and causing them to crash. Then, when you try and log in to your Scratchback dashboard to see how many people have seen your scratchback ad and how many of them purchased an advertisement (aka donation link per Scratchback) the site was down or inoperable most of the time.

I just checked the Scratchback website and yes it was down again. Maybe they are getting too much interest or whatever, but I find it a lousy business model and that its results are the worst I have seen out of all the advertising revenue ideas out there. After only a few websites or people placed bids for our Scratchback ads, we decided to pull the plug on it and reload the Adbrite ads. The sidebar Adbrite ads have not been the best performing, but they are producing better than Adsense and the others.
Do you use Scratchback or Adbrite on your website? What about Google Adsense and other sources of advertising and revenue? What works best for you? Do you think that by not using Google Adsense one ranks lower and receives less traffic or that it doesn't matter to your Google rankins as to what advertising medium a blogger uses? Drop a line or comment below and let us and other readers and webmasters know.
