How to make quick money on the internet
By David Maillie
Want to make some quick or extra cash? Want to pay off some bills or start a long term plan to get out of debt and become financially free? There are several ways to currently profit off the internet. The latest rage is blogging for dollars and some people really do make big money at that (just look at million dollar blogs like Boing Boing), followed by affiliates, domain name brokering and creating websites for resale amongst others.
The web has made it possible to conduct business 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For most this is amazing as you can literally make money while you sleep or go out to eat or whatever! So off to the first method – blogging. Blogging is just a lingo or glorified name for web logging. Web logging (blogging) evolved out of BBS chats and online diaries of the 80’s and 90’s. Nowadays, with a blog, you can literally communicate with the world about anything you want. You can voice your opinions, talk politics, share helpful tips (like we do here on Bestbraindrain.com), you can even make big money.
Now, to profit from blogs there are three ways – advertising (like Google Adsense text ads), affiliates, and selling your own products. For all three to work you need to have a good website setup and filled with great content. Unique, interesting content and news works best. For instance Perez Hilton’s website which focuses on celebrity bloops and such is very unique and has new material you will find their first. It receives millions of page views per day for this and is a million dollar website or blog (its easily worth millions if he were to ever sell it).
Next, there are affiliates. This is where you basically sign up to advertise and help sell someone elses items. It is similar to advertising, except you get a piece of the action or vig. When an item sells you get a percentage of the sales price which is predetermined. This can range from 5 to 10% for items from large discount retailers like Walmart to as high as 50% or more for online informational products (ebooks and similar). This usually pays considerably more than advertising.
Some people do the flip that website concept and are really good at it. You can make some really fast cash if you can setup, design, add content and draw traffic to a website. Websites with good, measurable traffic sell for top dollar - especially with high Alexa or other traffic measuring ratings. There are websites where you can post your websites for sale just like an auction and sell to the highest bidder. Don’t let anyone ever tell you there is no money in this. It all depends on how far along you develop the website, how much traffic and content it has, quality of content and niche, and salability (provable numbers which may be unique to each niche).
If you just want to make quick cash you can just buy domain names that you think will become popular or be in demand and hold on to them until you are offered what you want for it. For instance, lately the domain name cowboys.com has come up for sale and the Dallas Cowboys management showed interest in it, but dropped out when they backed out of their high bid. The domain has now recently sold for $370,000! Not a bad days pay for just signing up and registering a domain name. You just have to be creative here.
Some websites literally can go for millions of dollars and in some cases after only a year of development. It all depends on what the creator has done with the website and where its potential buyers see it going. Want to see the big numbers, just look at some of the recent million dollar website investments and purchases being made lately by large corporations. So, now you know you can make easy money on the internet through blogging, affiliates, website sales and domain name brokering. With the internet the sky is the limit and as more countries and people go online the online marketplace and the chances for making money just continue to grow.
