After watching both the UFC and Pride Fighting over the past several years and their various champions duke it out, the question finally arises as to whether one of these mixed martial art (MMA) forums is clearly superior and if one is a waste of time.  Well, they are both exciting, but clearly the Pride Fighting Championships have much higher caliber fighters.  This is clearly evident when some UFC fighters like Kevin Shamrock, Chuck Lidell (the Iceman), Mark Coleman and others cross over and fight in a Pride fight.  Unless they challenge a beginner or low class Pride fighter, the UFC fighter gets beat bad. 

It isn’t even close.  UFC president Dana Wight and Fear Factor host Joe Rogan can be seen commenting on how great their fighters are when in fact most literally couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag.  Its true.  I would like to see any UFC fighter try and take on a real fighter like Fedor Emelianenko or Wandelei Silva.  Heck lets see a real match up.  Champion versus champion.  Lets see the UFC’s supposed champion Chuck The Iceman Lidell against any Pride fighter – oh we already did and Chuck lost badly to a 3^rd tier Pride fighter named Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.  Jackson is a superior fighter by UFC standards, but was cut by Pride fighting as he was just not anywhere near the levels of Silva or even close to Emelianenko.

It just goes to show that UFC fighters are basically elementary school kids when compared to the Ivy League of fighting in Pride Fighting.  Supposedly Dana White of the UFC has been working with the Pride Fighting executives to bring some more challenges and fights between the UFC and Pride, but nothing has resulted as of yet and his response blames it on the Japanese management of Pride and that they are impossible to deal with.  No, the reality is that they are tired of UFC pitting their best against low level 3^rd tier fighters or worn out has beens from Pride.  They want real fights so viewers and fans can see that Pride is the best. 

Dana Wight is afraid that a top level fight would show the weakness of the UFC and that it would lose most of its viewers to Pride.  After watching the UFC’s recent attempts at gaining market share and viewers with its reality series The Ultimate Fighter it becomes even more clear that the UFC has really inferior fighters.  Years ago during the original UFC series there were real fighters that commanded some respect.  Dan Severn, Mark Kerr, etc… But even these fighters never were close to what Pride has, albeit they were much better than the current UFC fighters.  After watching the two for several years and many fights, one can only draw the conclusion that Pride Fighting Championship is the real deal and the UFC and its overpaid cry babies and children are a complete waste of time. 

Look at it this way – I would not want to match up against a real Pride champion like Silva or Emelianenko in a dark alley or in a bar fight, but fighting the UFC cry babies and kids under the same circumstances for most any person would be like taking candy from a baby.  I would be willing to bet that the top three or 4 UFC fighters together couldn’t take on Emelianenko.  Conclusion – UFC is a complete waste of time, Pride Fighting Championship is the real deal.
